COVID Vaccine Required

23 Aug 2021 by Sarah Pfau

Dear CRRC parents,

With the emergence of the more highly infectious delta variant of COVID-19, CRRC’s Board of Directors recently updated the Club’s policy and training protocols. The most notable change requires every CRRC athlete and coach to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This additional layer of protection will help offer the safest environment possible for our athletes, coaches, families and community.

We need your help to quickly collect vaccination status for each athlete, and request this information be submitted by Friday, August 27th at 5pm. Proof of vaccination is required for your child to practice with the team. If your child’s information is not on file, they will be unable to practice beginning August 28th. Vaccine status for Middle School athletes should be submitted by August 29th, before the start of their program.

Documentation of vaccination status for each athletes can be uploaded here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd4iV1RPllYWhx3PME8QELyw7VxHZbVqsPoTwFl8i-Oi_d99w/viewform

The following are acceptable as proof of vaccination:
A photo of the physical vaccination card (which includes name of person vaccinated, type of vaccine and date of last dose administered), or
Documentation of vaccination from a healthcare provider electronic health record or state Immunization Information System record

Athletes must be 2+ weeks from the final dose in a series to participate with the team. If you prefer to submit a paper, copy please give to Kari Cole at practice this week. You can also send to Kari by text (6085567374) or email (kari.cole@camprandallrc.org). If you are unsure if we have your COVID vaccination on record, please check with Kari.

Detailed information with current CRRC COVID policy is here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1HZAaV6o96VQSy58EM4ejDa_eVeTPge34/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=103410446117207973931&rtpof=true&sd=true.

Elizabeth Perry, CRRC Covid-point person, can be reached at covid@camprandallrc.org if you have additional questions or concerns. Elizabeth is a team parent and also a physician, and we are grateful for her knowledge and guidance regarding team safety and health. Policies are decided with guidance from Dr. Perry, additional Club members who work in healthcare, coach input, and CDC/state/local guidelines. For more information about COVID-19 vaccines, visit www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines.

We did not make this decision lightly, but are confident in the approach to put safety first. If your child is unable to participate with the team this Fall because they are not vaccinated against COVID, please notify Ann Bowen at registrar@camprandallrc.org. Ann is the team Registrar and will issue a full refund for unvaccinated athletes.

Should you have questions, do not hesitate to connect with anyone on the CRRC Board. In advance, thank you all for your collective efforts to keep everyone healthy and CRRC athletes on the water.

Sincerely,

Camp Randall Rowing Club Board of Directors:

Iris Kurman, President and Junior Parent Representative

Chandra Anderson, Vice President
